The 2021-22 season was an electric season for The Blazers. After a 28-7 season and 3 All-Conference players and Player of the Year (Jordan Walker), UAB took their season all the way to the March Madness where it ended. The team finished with multiple national accolades and a season many fans and players won't forget.
The season began with an invitational tournament where the Blazers went 1-1 in Las Vegas.
The Blazers would play West Virginia in Legacy Arena (Birmingham, AL) as this would be their first test of the year.
Quan Jackson finished 11th in the nation in steals and UAB finished as one of the top teams in the nation in steals thus branding them as the "Steal Mill" and with the nickname starting to catch on the team promoted the nickname by giving out theĀ 4000 T-shirt designed above to fans at the game.
The Blazer collected my awards throughout the season including becoming the only team in the nation with 6 players over 1000 career points, Jordan Walker winning C-USA player of the Week 3 out of 4 weeks in a row, collecting conference awards with 3 All-Conference players, Quan Jackson awarded All-Defensive team, and Jordan Walker winning Newcomer of the year and Player of the year.
